I've been meeting with Jen for coffee over the past few months, and each time I see her, I get to hear her gush about her fiance. I love it. She's so proud of him - who he is and what he has accomplished. I remember her leaning over the table, Peet's cup in hand, and emphasizing to me how much she loves that Nate's eyes are only for her. I could see in her smile how Nate made her feel: like a princess, like the most beautiful and precious girl in the world.
Yesterday I got to watch this love in action. I just set them in a spot with great light and they did the rest. I could see through my lens that Jen and Nate just get each other. I can't wait to see Nate's eyes watching Jen walk down the aisle this August... it's going to be a beautiful sight.

Brenda is my friend, my life-advisor, and my office-mate. While sharing an office: we laugh, we cry, we sing, we talk, we laugh some more, and we round it all off with our latest itunes favorite (played and re-played roughly 250 times per day). Oh and we manage to fit some work in there somewhere. I can't describe to you how deeply I care for Brenda. She brings a smile to my face all day, every day... I love being considered the friend of this gorgeous girl.
At first, I didn't know Brenda's fiance too well... but still loved him by association. If Brenda thinks he's so great (and believe me, she does!), I was sure I'd think so too. Now that I've been so fortunate as to spend a little time with Jeremy, I can say with confidence that my dear Brenda has really found the perfect guy... and the perfect guy for her! He is kind, wise, funny, and has an incredible quiet strength about him.
It makes me so happy to see two amazing people together... and so madly in love.

Beautiful pictures! And did you know Jeremy is my sister-in-law's (Tami DeMann) brother! : ) Congratulations guys! We're so excited for you!!!

(04.27.09 @ 09:39 AM)THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST.
(05.21.09 @ 11:53 PM)Here are a few things that I have enjoyed about this particular Monday:
- Morning at Peet's: Every Monday morning, the team of people I work with takes a little journey down to Peet's Coffee & Tea. We reflect on the weekend and update one another on our news. The barista's know us and our drinks - mine is a non-fat wet cappuccino with two pumps of vanilla (instead of four). I really just love the foam.
- Yanni Voices: I know what you're thinking: "Yanni?" Yes, Yanni. Don't judge. I bought my first Yanni song today. It's called Nei tuoi occhi - that means "In the mirror" in Italian. This is one of the most beautiful songs that I have ever heard. It is so incredibly romantic and moves like a dream. I basically listened to this song non-stop all day. You can (and definitely should) listen to it here.
- Lucca's: It's my favorite place to eat in Castro Valley. Fresh ingredients at a good, old-fashioned deli. My sandwich of choice: dutch crunch (the best bread at Lucca's), turkey, avocado, monterey jack cheese (or mozarella, sometimes), tomato, and lettuce. No mayo. No mustard. That's it. De-lish. And if you go, promise me you'll try Dirty Chips (the brand) - Cracked Pepper & Sea Salt flavor. I enjoyed my sandwich with two of my favorite coworkers for lunch.
- Short Stories: A (fabulous) photographer friend of mine and I talked briefly about the (fabulous) Short Story genre tonight. Thanks to this conversation, I have a new story to read... can't wait to start.
- Video Chat: Sometimes, modern technology really takes the cake. Tonight I got to talk with one of my dearest and oldest friends: Rachel. She lives far, far away in Oklahoma... but, thanks to ichat -- we got to talk face-to-face! I even got to meet her puppy, Macy. I love it.
See? Mondays can be delightful.
Tonight I'm working on photos of beatiful Ashlyn. I thought I would add in one of my current favorites... just to make your Monday a little brighter.

Wow Katy, I am very impressed with your pictures! I like your style, keep up the good work! I especially love the pictures of Ashlyn and cant wait to get some from Amber. Your website looks great also!
Love Brooke
xoxo
Any morning is good when it starts out with Peets. You'll get no flack from me on Yanni, as I love the genre. If work is where God is, and He is, then Monday mornings should be glorious. God created us to work, and to create within our work, and to impact others through our work. When I'm feeling this, I love going to work.
(04.14.09 @ 12:16 PM)Have you ever read Hemingway's short story in six words?
(04.16.09 @ 11:57 PM)"Let's meet at our Starbucks."
Since Beth and I became friends, we've been meeting at the Hacienda Crossings Starbucks - right by the movie theater. Next time you go there... remember... it belongs to Beth and me.
Tonight I got to see darling Beth... it had been way too long. It was wonderful to catch up... and to snap a few pictures of this gorgeous girl. Beth is so attractive - and not just in matters of looks. All that gorgeous blond hair, big blue eyes, and bright smile aside... she's got one of the most appealing personalities on the planet. I LOVE being around Beth - and I treasure my time with her because I'm just one in a million people who wants to spend some time laughing and chatting with the ultimate life of the party: B.Cat.

Love to you, Beth. Can't wait until we return to our Starbucks together.
