Driving out to meet Brad and Liz this morning, I witnessed one of the most captivating sunrises I've ever seen! I had a feeling that this was going to be a good day...
Brad and Liz are an adorable couple - they're absolutely in love. One of my favorite parts of the morning was watching Brad fawn over his bride-to-be. He just couldn't keep his eyes off of her! And I can see Liz's love for Brad radiating from her eyes and smile.
These two got engaged on the Napa wine train... but we opted to shoot at a stationary wine-related location... gorgeous Wente Vineyards in Livermore.

I had a terrific morning with you, Brad and Liz! I can't wait for your wedding... October 4th is coming quickly!

Last night I enjoyed a girls' night out!
Dani, Brenda, Cortney, and I went out to Sideboard in Downtown Danville. Basically, I couldn't give this place higher reviews. It's all organic, home-made, locally grown food! And did I mention that it's delicious??

(Not if, but) WHEN you go to Sideboard you need to order a side of their delicious, healthily-cooked organic and natural fries. They are so scrumptious. My favorite entree at Sideboard is the Grilled Chicken Salad... with added baby tomatoes. Grab a friend and go there soon!
There is something so incredible about eating well... in all senses of the word.

Bridget:
So funny. I just emailed you about taking you to sideboards. It's one of my favorites too. Maybe we can try breakfast? My sister-in-law was so impressed that they did "latte art", guess you'll have to photopragh that next:)

That's how you say "good-night" in Hebrew.
It's also the name of one of the most darling girls I know... Lilah! Two summers ago, Lilah was a Senior in my cabin at Hume Lake summer camp. To say the least... we had an AMAZING week. Highlights?
-Rave Party (yes, glow sticks were involved)
-Oreos & Peanut Butter (delicious, try it)
-Getting to know a cabin full of the sweetest girls on earth (I was scared of them at first)
-Catch Phrase (this game will bring out the crazy in you)
-Recreation with Robin Swan (let me just say I'm glad she's on my team)
-Seeing thousands of kids learn more about what it means to follow Christ (and learning right along with them)
Almost two years later... I have to tell you that I miss my girls!
Today I got to reconnect with one of them: LILAH.

Lilah is my sweet little Hawaiian princess. She's grown so much in the last two years - as a person and also in her faith. It's really cool to see her so involved in ministry at church now, using her gifts to serve others.
Thanks for joining me today, Lilah. Now... all of my other girls: LET'S HAVE LUNCH!
PS: Lilah and I went to Lucca's Deli in Castro Valley for lunch today... HIGHLY recommend it.

Months ago I went with Andrea to the Sutro Baths in San Francisco. We didn't quite find the Baths... although it was right under our noses the entire time. But we did find a lovely grove of cypress and some old concrete structures... that was good enough!
She was the very first person to stand in front of my precious 50mm lens. She was a doll to pose out in the absolute freezing wind while I just had to get "one more shot!" I was just so excited to be using such a sharp lens that made such perfect images. Thanks for letting me enjoy myself at your expense, Andrea. :)
I love the look Andrea has about her... there's something very old-world in the simplicity of her expression and the relaxed yet poised way she carries herself.

Andrea and I paint together every Thursday night... so that's where I'll be off to in just a few minutes!

I'll admit it, I'm obsessed with LOST.
Now that that's out of the way, I have an even nerdier story to tell.
The other night, as I was getting ready to go to my friend Matt's to watch the new episode, I found something brilliant.
[Here's a little background: the lighting in my room is awful. Worse than awful, actually.]
So there I am in front of the mirror struggling to see what I'm putting on my face... when I notice my round mirror next to me.
[Background: I repainted my room months ago and still haven't hung everything back up on the walls.]
So, there's the mirror. I pick it up, angle it in my lap, and gasp at the sheer beauty that is light.
Soft, mysterious, tranquil light. The kind of light that makes you look like Audrey Hepburn... or Ingrid Bergman... or Grace Kelly.

Remember how much I love LOST? Well, I was late to the weekly viewing party
because of this magical light. Yeah, I loved it that much.
