[I realize I haven't blogged in forever.  I'm working on it!  Here's my first attempt at catch-up.]

Pretty, pretty, pretty Jess and I had a quick sip at Peet's last week.  We chatted about life, ambitions, motherhood, adoption, marriage, anthropologie, racial ambiguity, mamacitas, and the delicious pink iced tea blend she was enjoying.

Jess is just all-around striking... but what really gets me is her intense green eyes and her adorable freckles.

I can't wait to spend more time with you, Jess.  You're as brilliant as the brightest star.

Each wedding is a crisp, fresh version of the same, age-old song.  Our wild and wonderful uniqueness as human beings brings a new beauty and a novel context to the traditional scene.

Jackie & Jordan embraced simplicity and personally meaningful elements to celebrate their union.  They were perfectly relaxed and at home all throughout the beautiful Colorado Saturday... choosing to enjoy the moments purely; letting themselves breathe deep and experience the momentous nature of the day.

Jackie & Jordan: it was a real pleasure spending your special day with you!  I loved going through the McD's drive-through, feeling the center of Denver, seeing you become man and wife, eating delish cake, and laughing almost the whole time.  Best to you both as you venture on to Seattle and... beyond!

They are absolutely gorgeous!! Thank you so much for coming and for capturing the beauty of the day and in the simple moments...I aspire to do the same myself with my photos! If only I could get the family to stop making faces at me! ;-)

Those are great! Can I get married again so you can take my pictures? I like how the colors (and the style of her dress) looks like my parents wedding photos. So cool!

Jackie was one of the most uniquely beautiful brides I've ever seen.

While I'm finishing the blog photos from their lovely Colorado wedding, I thought I'd give you a little taste of what you're in for.

August 14, 2009 // lovebirds
When I began taking pictures last year, I literally thought (more than once) that I wished I could take pictures of my sweet friend Jackie.  She has a classic, composed kind of loveliness that is just hard to come by.

My wish came true when I got an email this summer from Jackie, asking me if I would photograph her wedding!  "Yes!"

This morning, I flew to Colorado.  Jackie got me all jazzed about the details of the big day, and I got to meet the man of her dreams... Jordan!  I'd be playing it way too cool if I said I was simply excited about the day ahead.  I'm ecstatic.

Here is a little glimpse into Jackie & Jordan...

August 12, 2009 // stories
Took a splendid little trip down to 4th St. on Tuesday night with my dear Rachie (friend & designer).

Originally the whole point of the outing was to find new ideas for my room... but it turned into an excuse to shop and be girly.  Works for me!

Paper Source (for pretty cards), Anthropologie (for a new purple dress(!)), The Gardener (for a look at succulents and a taste of ginger candy), Castle in the Air (for magic, magic, magic).

I've always adored succulents -- and one of my only desires for my room was that it have lots of succulents inside.  The Gardener had plenty of pretty little ones to look at...

We were back home by dusk... just in time for a photo of Rach with her sweet little bug.

Here's to mid-week field trips... evenings in Berkeley... and the countless joys of being a girl!

Nice to see that Rachel still has the VW. I remember when my wife and I used to live walking distance from 4th St.; we enjoyed little strolls down there, esp. when they used to have Cody's down there. I definitely miss many things about living in Berkeley. Great pics, as usual.
